Twin Cities native, Lisa Drost, brings a world of experience to the classroom! Performing for 40 years and teaching for 35, she studied at UW-River Falls, New York University and Westminster Choir College. She’s performed nationally and locally, singing with the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, New York Pops, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra, Denise Graves, Patti LaBelle, Shirley Caesar, Take 6 and many others on PBS, national and local TV.
Lisa has taught private lessons to students as young as 4 years old on up to adults age 78 and older including college classes and to those of all abilities, including those with learning disabilities. She brings a sense of fun and exploration to each lesson and looks forward to working with new students! Lisa gets to know each student and their goals for lessons, then she settles into a routine that is sprinkled with opportunities to explore concepts and techniques in a deeper way or take things in an unexpected direction that enhances the lesson plan. She’s excited to share her knowledge with you!
When she's not performing, in her spare time, she likes to go on road trips, create, hike, try new recipes and generally escape on little excursions to new places.
