WORDS TO DESCRIBE MY TEACHING STYLE
Flexible
Innovative
Creative
Progressive
Sue loves her job and loves playing the piano and she hopes to instill that passion in her students. Her degree and specialty is in piano pedagogy, the art of teaching piano, and she has been doing this a very long time! Her other specialty is designing music games that make learning music theory more fun and applicable. And she will try almost anything and can sightplay almost anything so no matter what the student wants to learn, she will find a way to adapt.
Lessons are designed to take the student to the next step, whatever that may be, and hopefully get the student self-motivated to continue the progress at home. She matches her teaching style to the student's learning style. Together, they will explore a healthy diet of largely classical music mixed with technique/etudes (vitamins!) adding in any other musical styles that interest the student and get them playing (dessert!)
She loves reading, outdoor adventures with her husband, Kurt, and quiet indoor evenings with her cat, Unk.
