Brian's experience playing and performing the piano repertoire, from composers like Bach all the way to Gershwin, gives him a unique perspective and experience when teaching piano!
A typical lesson with Brian will try to focus on a well-rounded approach to music. Piano playing is at the forefront - with technique, musicality, how to practice - the skills necessary to play piano. However, this will always be balanced with note-reading skills, as well as aspects of music literacy, such as harmony and voice-leading, music history, etc. He tries to make these activities as fun as possible!
In his spare time, Brian loves learning! Reading about science, history, and literature are his main passions. He also likes playing tennis, golf, and pickleball - a newly found hobby!
